
Man fails to pay sushi bill. On June 12, a man was arrested by Denver police after failing to pay a bill at Go Sushi, 1 Broadway St. The suspect apparently gave staff a credit card to pay for his food, but the card was declined. The suspect tried twice to leave the restaurant, but was kept by staff. When talking to police, he insisted that he paid for the meal, but was unable to provide any receipt.
Woman on moped assaulted by teens. A woman called police June 13 to report that she was assaulted by a group of teens while riding her moped near the intersection of West 44th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. The victim said the teens threw bottles at her. After confronting them, she was pushed off her moped and hit several times. She punched one back in self-defense and the teens left the area. Her sunglasses were also stolen.
Store owner’s truck hit with rock. On June 14, a man was arrested after he threw a rock at a truck in the parking lot of the Bargain House, 410 E. Colfax Ave. The suspect was seen by staff and other witnesses throwing a rock at the truck, which belonged to the store’s owner. The suspect later told police that he had an altercation with staff the previous week and became angry when he saw the owner’s truck. The truck’s windshield had a chip where the rock hit.
Parking attendant grabs crowbar after punch. Police responded to a disturbance June 10 at a parking lot near 16th and Market streets. Police arrived to find a man wielding a crowbar. The man said he was assaulted by a suspect after telling him to pay for his parking space. The victim claimed to be a parking attendant. The victim told police he got the crowbar after he was punched because he is partially disabled. The suspect was cited for assault.
Fight at Third Way Center. On June 9, police responded to a physical altercation at the Third Way Center, 1295 York St. Witnesses told police that both parties were involved in a verbal dispute that escalated. The combatants were also juveniles.
