Those of us who live in LoDo quickly develop our own perspective. Unlike politically correct outsiders, we don’t believe that the 16th Street Mall was designed for camping and loitering. And like The Denver Post, we’ve often wondered why more permanent beat officers on foot — real cops, who can make an arrest — have not been assigned to the mall. My friends who come in from foreign countries always echo the same thought.

I live in downtown Denver, and have been verbally assaulted and nearly physically assaulted several times in broad daylight just walking to the A-train for the airport or walking to Walgreens. Enough is enough — I am so glad the mayor is not going to take it anymore
