Fort Carson soldier injured in training accident

A Fort Carson soldier was injured in a training accident early Monday morning, authorities say.

The soldier, whose name has not been released, was listed in stable condition.

The accident happened at 2:25 a.m., according to a news release by Dani Johnson, Fort Carson spokeswoman.

The soldier was taken by helicopter to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Johnson said. The soldier is assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
