Re: July 8 news story.

The location on the southwestern corner of 38th and Wadsworth in Wheat Ridge just cries out for something more than a ho-hum, fast-buck development. Why not a large condo high-rise with a grocery on the main floor? Design a group of high-rise condo buildings around a pedestrian plaza so that residents have an outdoor area of quiet with landscaping and trees. Coffee shops, pubs and other small shops could be located in the ground level of the condo buildings. A few town homes maybe.

Here is a rare opportunity for Wheat Ridge to shine. It is not often that a large, well-located property is available for development. Please, Wheat Ridge, do not take the easy path. It is time for some creative design work that will establish a new development model for decades to come.
