A woman who allegedly rear-ended a vehicle in Thornton, drove off in it when the driver got out, and then side-swiped a number of other vehicles, faces multiple charges, Adams County prosecutors said on Thursday.
The Adams County District Attorney’s office announced that Deborah Jean Daniels is charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft, driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving, for an incident on May 17.
Daniels, 58, who was arrested on Tuesday, allegedly rear-ended a Cadillac Escalade at Washington Street and East 104th Avenue in Thornton.
“When the driver of that vehicle got out of her vehicle to check the damage, Daniels got into the Escalade and drove off, hitting at least four other vehicles until she wrecked the Escalade further north on Washington Street,” according to a release.
She will be in court at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 19 for an appearance on bond.
