Colorado Springs police said a 21-year-old man slugged an officer in the head early Sunday, leading to his arrest.
Police responded when a fight among several people broke out on North Tejon Street near Pikes Peak Avenue, police said.
“As responding police officers and security officers were attempting to break up the disturbance, Ivan Rios (21-year-old male) intervened and struck a uniformed police officer in the head. Mr. Rios was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault,” according to police.
