Murder warrant issued in fatal shooting of Greeley man

A second-degree murder arrest warrant has been issued for a man suspected in a fatal Greeley shooting last weekend, police said Friday.

Lee Arthur Scott, 25, is wanted in the July 23 killing of 25-year-old Jose Jaquez on the 800 block of 26th Avenue.

Jaquez was found lying in the roadway, unresponsive and with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to Northern Colorado Medical Center where he later died.

“Through intense investigation and numerous witness statements, detectives have been able to obtain an arrest warrant for (Scott),” police said in a news release.

Scott remains on the run and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Greeley police.

“Do not approach this individual,” the release said. “Notify law enforcement.”
