Police in southern Colorado are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed Saturday evening in the face and neck outside of a grocery story.
Trinidad police said the stabbing happened just before 6 p.m. at 457 W. Main Street, where a Safeway store is.
Investigators said the victim, a 50-year-old man, had “penetrating stab wounds” to his left check and neck. He was stabilized at a local hospital before being moved to another medical facility, police said.
Witnesses at the scene told investigators that the victim was see arguing with a man and that a verbal confrontation between the two quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
The suspect left the area before police arrived on scene. A description of him was not released.
