Highs in the mid-90s before cool down in Denver and chance for rain

High temperatures will drop around 18 degrees on Thursday

The temperature will rise to around 95 degrees Wednesday before a late afternoon rainstorm will begin to cool things off in the Denver metro area.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms before midnight, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Winds from the north and northwest gusting up to 24 mph will drop the high temperature into the 70s on Thursday.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms late Thursday and an even better chance for rain on Friday.

On Friday it will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, the weather service predicts.

The high temperature is expected to reach about 76 degrees, according to the NWS.

There is another strong chance for rain on Saturday.

Temperatures will start to rise over the weekend and the first part of next week, with a high of 83 degrees on Saturday, 88 on Sunday, 89 on Monday and 90 on Tuesday.

The chance for afternoon rain significantly decreases on Sunday and Monday.

It’s expected to be mostly sunny on Tuesday.
