Temperatures will drop into the mid-80s on a breezy Tuesday in which winds could gust up to 24 mph.

A wind change is expected in the afternoon. Winds will shift from the southwest to the northeast and bring rain to isolated areas of the Front Range, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

After 3 p.m. there is a 10 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms in the Denver area. That will increase to 20 percent in the evening.

The high temperature will be around 86 degrees Tuesday. Then will drop to about 54, according to the NWS.

An early preview of autumn comes on Wednesday, when the high is expected to climb to only 74 degrees.

There is a 20 percent chance of morning rain and thunderstorms Wednesday and the low temperature will be around 51 degrees.

The high on Thursday will also be in the mid-70s. There is a 20 percent chance of afternoon rain and thunderstorms.

Temperatures are expected to begin a gradual rise on Friday. It will get warmer through the weekend and the first part of next week, according to the NWS.

The high on Friday will be around 81 degrees. There is a 20 percent chance of afternoon rain on Friday.

The probability of rain decreases on the weekend. The high is expected to climb to 83 on Saturday and 84 on Sunday.

By Monday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high back to normal levels for this time of year at 86 degrees.
