Colorado weather prognosticators suggest that Denverites should have their umbrellas ready Friday afternoon, especially during a 60-minute span between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

That’s when the odds are the highest — 30 percent — that clouds will shed their moisture and hurl thunderbolts, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Meteorologists say it should be a breezy, cloudy day with wind gusts up to 23 mph.

The high Friday should reach 83 degrees. Friday night, temperatures will dip to a low of about 58 degrees.

The skies over the Denver metropolitan area on Labor Day weekend will be mostly sunny, with temperatures rising to a high of 86 Saturday and peaking at 90 degrees on Sunday, before falling slightly to 88 on Labor Day, according to the NWS.

There’s a 20 percent chance of afternoon rain and thunderstorms on Saturday.

Temperatures will be milder in the middle of next with a high around 82 each day between Tuesday and Thursday, according to the NWS.

The low will be around 54 degrees both on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
