Re: Sept. 22 food story.
I was pleased to read Jeremy Meyer’s comments on our new brewery in Greeley, WeldWerks Brewing Co. Noting that USA Today “named it the best new brewery in the country,” he described the prize-winning beers on which WeldWerks is building its reputation. All well and good. However, I was disappointed by his gratuitous backhander to our town when he wrote that WeldWorks is “nestled into a community known more for meat-packing and a certain bovinical stench.” Let me suggest, to counter this outdated municipal stereotype, that Meyer join me as my guest for a tour of Greeley as it is now. We might see the outstanding murals downtown, visit the spectacular Weld County Courthouse, or stop by the Kress Cinema to see an independent film as we enjoyed a light dinner washed down by a WeldWerks imperial stout. He might be surprised.
