A man was resentenced Monday in an Aurora murder case involving the 2006 shooting of a convenience store clerk.

John Doubleday was sentenced Friday for the 2006 shooting of Jutte Gallegos Burton, 62, at a 7-Eleven in Aurora.

In 2008, a jury convicted of killing Jutte Gallegos Burton, 62. She suffered a on Dec. 10, 2006, during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven.

In October 2008, a judge sentenced Doubleday to life in prison for Burton’s murder. In 2016, the state Supreme Court overturned his sentence on a technicality.

On Monday, District Judge Michael Spear resentenced Doubleday to 30 years in prison.
