The Republicans had too many candidates and ended up with Donald Trump when the votes were split between all those options. The Democrats had too few candidates and ended up with Hillary Clinton as the best they could do. Majorities in both parties are not happy with either one.
Clinton is politics as usual and a throwback to the first Clinton with the same old empty promises thathave had us looking for something different for a very long time. Trump is truly something different, but something different bad, rather than something different good.
Either way the country loses in this election. Our only hope to see the promise of any progress in the next four years lies with Congress, which plays a major role in making things happen in any case. With Clinton in the White House, it will be four more years of gridlock. For voters who want to see things start to move in Washington, it will take a Republican in the White House — like it or not.

Now that the presidential contest has reached the obvious, giving us only two candidates from which to choose, it would seem that a decision must be reached, based upon two most important factors: the experience and the credentials of each candidate. That choice may be based upon a simple question, i.e.“What will a Trump presidency do tothe country?” as opposed to “What will a Clinton presidency do forthecountry?”
