
A number of U.S. newspapers have made headlines with their endorsements in the presidential election, with USA Today and the Chicago Tribune this week making surprising recommendations.
USA Today, which had never before endorsed a candidate, penned an of Donald Trump. While it didn’t throw its full weight behind Hillary Clinton, the paper’s editorial board pronounced Trump “unfit for the presidency.” The Washington Post made a against Trump in July.
The Chicago Tribune’s editorial board itself opted to Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party candidate.
Most major newspapers that have weighed in so far, including and the , have endorsed Clinton. The Denver Post will offer its recommendation in the presidential race later this election season.
