A 33-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of her husband.
Roxanne Sanchez-Jaime has also been charged with four counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
, Jose Sanchez, 34 on Sept. 25, according to a news release by Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.
The shooting happened at 6:40 p.m. at 16156 E. Randolph Place while their four children were in the home, according to a Denver police report.
One of the children told Detective Jonathan Joyce that his mother and father were having a conversation when he saw his mother pull a gun from the back waistband of her pants.
He then saw his mother shoot his father several times. His father fell to the ground.
Following her arrest, Sanchez-Jaime allegedly told police, “Shot the mother-[expletive] in the head.”
Sanchez-Jaime is being held in the Denver jail without bond. She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for advisement of charges.
