Denver police investigating hit and run that injured pedestrian in downtown

The Denver Police Department is investigating an early Saturday morning hit and run near the intersection of Speer Boulevard and Arapahoe Street.

One pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after the accident that happened shortly after 6 a.m., said Raquel Lopez, a spokeswoman for the Denver Police Department.

Police did not have a vehicle description as of 8:15 a.m.

Northbound Speer Boulevard remains closed to traffic. It is not known when the road will be opened.
