Denver residents will be basking in unusually warm temperatures Friday and throughout the weekend under mostly sunny skies, forecasters say.

The high Friday will be around 72 degrees, which is 8 degrees above the normal for this time of the year, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It only gets warmer on the weekend, with an expected high temperature of 79 degrees on Saturday and 74 on Sunday and southwest winds blow into the state.

On Monday, it will begin to get cloudy in the afternoon and mostly cloudy at night, the NWS says.

The next chance for rain is on Tuesday morning. The high temperature on Tuesday will be around 70 degrees. The high will be around 72 degrees both on Wednesday and Thursday.
