As it has for nearly 50 years, the latest MileHiCon will celebrate science fiction, fantasy and spec-fiction in a family-friendly, nonprofit atmosphere that puts the written word above all else. Of course, there’s still plenty of room for cosplay and trivia contests, robot races, kid’s entertainment, gaming, sci-fi and horror-themed vendors, a fantasy art show and more among the 100 or so invited authors and writing-focused panels — which include names such as John Varley, Kelley Armstrong, Julie Dillon, Chaz Kemp and L. Neil Smith. Oct. 28-30 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, 7800 E. Tufts Ave.  $20-$22 per day.
