A man found slain along the South Platte River in Denver during the weekend frequented the area where he was discovered to collect scrap metal and possibly pan for gold, police said.
Wayland Busby, 54, died of a gunshot wound. The Denver medical examiner’s office has ruled his death a homicide.

Police found Busby dead Saturday. Investigators say he appeared to be have been living in a tent that was covered with a green, camouflage tarp.
