Re: Nov. 12 editorial.

Your editorial creates a false equivalence. You assert that many people were afraid of the new Obama administration just like the current anxiety about the Trump administration. You go on to listing an astonishing array of fears about the Trump presidency, including deportation of DACA children, loss of abortion rights, and bullying the international community. These and many more are all valid concerns. But, don’t try to suggest that the election of Barack Obama in 2008 generated anything close to our current, authentic fears.

As Garrison Keillor noted recently, “You have learned nothing. Nada. Zilch.”

Robert Kihm, Centennial

Trusting Donald Trump will take faith? Trusting politicians is not the role of professional journalists. Trusting one who has shown himself to be a serial liar and con man would be a total rejection of your ethical obligation to seek the truth and report it.
