A handcuffed man who escaped from the back of a Larimer County sheriff’s patrol car has been captured.
William Robert Morgan, 37, who was wanted for failure to appear in court on a drug charge, was arrested Wednesday in Loveland on the outstanding warrant.
Deputies with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office had handcuffed Morgan and put him in the back of a car. As the deputies arrested a woman at the scene, who also was wanted on an outstanding warrant, Morgan disappeared.
On Thursday afternoon, Morgan was arrested at an apartment complex close to where he escaped the day before, according to the sheriff’s office.
Morgan is being held at the Larimer County jail on a felony warrant, a misdemeanor warrant and on the escape allegation.
An internal sheriff’s office investigation into how Morgan escaped the patrol vehicle is ongoing.
