Sunshine is forecast for the Denver metro area on Thanksgiving Day with a high temperature of around 47 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

But a northwest wind gusting up to 36 mph will make it bit more difficult to throw an accurate pass during pick-up football games Thursday.

Early Black Friday shoppers beware: The temperature will drop to about 23 degrees Thanksgiving night. Dress warm.

A wind shift on Friday means temperatures will continue to climb higher. A south southwest wind will push temperatures up to about 59 degrees by the afternoon.

The weather on Saturday will be nearly identical as Friday with sunny skies and a high of about 59.

On Sunday, temperatures will begin a gradual decline with a high of 51.

Cooler weather returns early next week with temperatures expected to drop to a high of 39 on Monday and 31 on Tuesday.

Tuesday night, the temperature will plummet to around 15 degrees, before climbing to about 36 on Wednesday, the NWS predicts.
