
Lora’s Donuts and Bakery Shop is honoring fallen trooper and former regular by donating 100 percent of its profits Saturday to his two young daughters, aged 7 and 10.

Donahue, 34, was by a U.S. Foods commercial truck driver in November on Interstate 25 south of Castle Rock. The 41-year-old driver, Noe Gamez-Ruiz, has been charged with careless driving resulting in death, a Class 1 misdemeanor, and failure to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle in the crash
The 11-year-veteran of the Colorado State Patrol was as hard working, kind and “so honest he even gave his own wife a ticket.”
Lora’s Donuts co-owner Jim Samaraf said the shop will likely sell 20,000 doughnuts by the time it closes.
“They’ve been making doughnuts now for about 20 hours,” Samaraf said.
CSP and law enforcement officials, including Arapahoe County Sheriff David Walcher and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Steve Johnson, took to Twitter to encourage people to head to Lora’s Donuts.

The Englewood doughnut shop, located at 11804 E Oswego St., will be hosting the benefit from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The doughnut shop wasn’t the only one helping out the Donahue family. A set up to support the family has raised $90,476 from 1,190 donors as of 2 p.m. Saturday.
Nature photographer Russ Shugart, who doubles as an employee for the Governor’s Office of Information Technology, and plans to give the proceeds to the Donahue family. The auction ends at midnight Dec. 20.
