A light southwest breeze will push temperatures in the Denver metro area to around 40 degrees on Monday, forecasters say.
Winds of between 5 and 9 mph are expected to become calm in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Monday night it will be cool with a low of about 17 degrees.
Temperatures will continue to warm up on Tuesday, when the high is expected to reach around 50 degrees, according to the NWS.
The low temperature on Tuesday night will be less frigid than Monday night. The temperature in Denver will bottom out at about 27 degrees, forecasters say.
It will be mostly sunny with a high of about 48 degrees on Wednesday. Winds will shift from a southwest to a northwesterly direction in the afternoon, when gusts could reach 22 degrees, the NWS predicts.
Denver residents can expect sunny skies both on Thursday and Friday when the high temperatures will reach 41 degrees and 53 respectively, forecasters say.
There is a slight chance of rain and snow on Saturday. It will be partly sunny with a high of about 43 degrees.
Forecasters predict it will be sunny with a high of around 43 degrees on Sunday, or New Year’s Day.
