A man suffered life-threatening injuries Saturday afternoon after he was shot in the chest during an altercation in a Walmart parking lot along Colfax Avenue, Aurora police said.

The two men had a dispute at about 12:22 p.m. in the parking lot, located at 10400 block of East Colfax Avenue, police said. One of the individuals pulled out a gun and shot the other individual in the chest, according to police

The victim then ran into a nearby ACE Cash Express pay day lending business. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was undergoing surgery. Police did not identify the man who was shot.

The suspect, described as a Latino male was wearing a black ball cap and wearing dark clothes, fled the area in a dark colored car, police said.
