State troopers are investigating a fatal one-vehicle crash that happened early Tuesday morning near 64th Avenue and Washington Street in the northern Denver metro area.

The driver was the only person in a sedan at the time of the crash, according to a 6:06 a.m. Colorado State Patrol tweet. Troopers say the car struck a pole.

The person, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Washington Street has been closed between 64th and 66th avenues for an investigation.
