The ashes of Mary Nazzaro's deceased husband were stolen from her Longmont-area home Tuesday. Her husband's remains were inside a humidor on her dresser.

Mary Nazzaro said she would give everything to have what was inside an oak humidor snatched Tuesday by a burglar.

While Nazzarro was next door watching her two young grandchildren, someone forced entry to her home through the front door just north of Longmont.

The theft happened days before the fifth anniversary of her husband Jeff’s sudden death on Feb. 11, 2012.

Nazzaro holds onto the hope that either the robber will return the ashes or somebody will find the bag on the side of the road. “I just have to get to that place where it’s OK that the ashes are going to be where they end up, but if anybody does come across them …” she said.
