The Denver metro area is expected to feel a cold snap over the weekend but temperatures should heat back up next week.

“It’s cooling down through Sunday, but then Monday it’ll begin to warm again. But we’re only expected to get up to the 60s come Friday,” National Weather Service spokeswoman Natalie Gusack said. “We’re not looking at another .”

The Denver area should have light winds with a 40 percent likelihood of rain and snow Saturday evening. Parts of Denver may see up to an inch of snow.

Sunday should be mostly cloudy with a 10 percent chance of snow in the morning. Highs should be around the low- to mid-40s and lows should hang around the upper-20s.

Those heading to the mountains should expect wind and snow. The area could see an accumulation of 2-5 inches Saturday and up to 3 inches Sunday. Highs should be between in the 20s and 30s Saturday and Sunday with lows hanging around the teens.
