Band of thieves. A man who lives in the 2200 block of South Eagle Court heard a car pull in front of his house around 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3. Three men got out of the car and scattered around the neighborhood, trying to open car doors parked in the area. One of the suspects got into the man’s Jeep and took something. The victim went outside and tried to chase the men, but they got away.
Ex-boyfriend steals woman’s dog. Someone broke into a woman’s house in the 900 block of South Zeno Way and stole her Chihuahua Feb. 5. She suspected her ex-boyfriend, who initially denied taking the dog to officers. The suspect eventually returned the dog, the woman didn’t press charges.
Disappearing fares. A Metro Taxi cab driver called police to the 17300 block of Adriatic Drive because two women whom he drove there from Denver refused to pay him Feb. 5. The suspects apparently went into an apartment, but when officers knocked on the door they weren’t inside anymore.
Public phone charging. A woman went to McDonald’s, 11025 E. Colfax Ave. with her grandchildren Jan. 31 and plugged her cellphone into an outlet near the drink machine to charge it. The phone was gone when she went to retrieve it.
Unattended business. After putting in a load of laundry at the Laundromat at 15680 E. Colfax Ave., a woman went to run an errand. When she came back later Feb. 8, she saw that someone smashed out the front window of the business. There was no owner or manger on site, so she called police.
