Police swarmed an area of East Colfax Avenue on Wednesday afternoon in response to a shooting.
The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Colfax and Valentia Street, according to the Denver Police Department.
One person, in critical condition, was taken to a hospital. Several people have been detained, and an investigation is ongoing.
Just before 7 p.m., police said a suspect was taken into custody.
Traffic was slowed by the incident as one lane of eastbound Colfax was shut down.
Police did not release the name of the suspect, or a motive in the shooting. The victim was not identified, and further details on injuries were not released.
