Boulder District Attorney Stan Garnett considering running for Colorado Attorney General

Boulder District Attorney Stan Garnett said he is considering a second run for Colorado Attorney General.

Garnett, a registered Democrat, filed the necessary paperwork for such a run last week, but in an interview he said he likely will mull a possible candidacy for about a month before making a final decision on a campaign bid. Garnett , a Republican, in 2010.

Garnett has just started his third term as the district attorney in Colorado’s 20th Judicial District.

State Rep. Joe Salazar, a Democrat from Thornton, to run for attorney general.

The current attorney general, Cynthia Coffman, a Republican, also has filed the necessary paperwork for a re-election bid in 2018, but she might end up running instead for governor.
