Winds out of the southwest gusting up to 23 mph will push the high temperature in downtown Denver to around 76 degrees Wednesday, forecasters say.

That is about 20 degrees above normal for this time of the year. Usually temperatures reach the mid-50s in mid-March, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It’s technically still winter, but it will feel like late spring.

It will be mostly sunny on Thursday with a high near 77 degrees. In the evening, winds could gust up to 26 mph.

An unusual easterly wind gusting up to 21 mph on Friday will drop temperatures to around 67 degrees.

Sunshine and balmy temperatures are forecast for the weekend. The high on Saturday will be around 78 degrees and the high Sunday could reach 81, according to NWS meteorologists.

Although it will be mostly sunny the first part of next week, temperatures will drop back down into the 60s, according to the NWS.
