The high temperature for Monday will be flirting with a Denver heat record, forecasters predict.

The high is expected to reach 80 degrees in downtown Denver, which would tie a record set in 1907, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

In the Denver area Monday, trees in full bloom welcomed the first day of spring. Much-needed moisture is in the forecast for northeastern Colorado and for the Denver area this week.

Warm temperatures and low humidity on Monday will elevate fire danger across the state, according to meteorologists.

The low Monday night will be around 45 degrees.

There is a chance for afternoon rain on Tuesday along the Front Range. The high temperature will be around 65 degrees. It will be around 71 on Wednesday.

The chance for rain increases on Thursday. There is a 30 percent chance for rain in the afternoon. The high temperature will be around 67 degrees, according to the NWS.

Rain and snow are likely, mainly before noon. It will be mostly cloudy and breezy, with a high of around 55 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny on Saturday, with a high of around 64 degrees.

There is another slight chance of rain on Sunday, when it will be mostly sunny with a high of around 60 degrees.
