Re: April 1 guest commentary.
Stan Dempsey, president of the Colorado Mining Association, mentions the word “coal” in his guest commentary almost as many times as he mentions Donald Trump. Obviously he is very appreciative of the president for gutting the Clean Power Plan. I wonder if Dempsey saw the other two items in the same section of The Post condemning Trump for these actions: April 1 editorial; and April 2 Froma Harrop column.
Dempsey should ask miners what they think of Trump taking away black lung and medical benefits. Or Trump’s budget, which would cut $9 billion from education, thus making it harder for the children of miners to have a better life. To have their fathers hopefully live a long, full life. Out of the mines, if that is what they choose.
