Strong winds are expected in the foothills, and the Denver metro area Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Winds could gust up to 50 miles-per-hour in the foothills, with rain and snow showers. Winds could gust up to 40 mph in the western parts of the metro area, said Kyle Frieden, NWS meteorologist. Winds are also expected to be high on the eastern plains.
Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high of 55 degrees in Denver, and temperatures should creep up to 60 degrees on Monday.
The sun will shine throughout the week, and wind should calm before Tuesday. Temperatures will hover in the lower to mid-70s for the rest of the week.
