A woman fled officers Saturday by hopping into the South Platte River, only to be taken into custody a few minutes later.
Officers contacted the woman at about 11:50 a.m. in connection with trespassing, Denver Police Department spokesman Doug Schepman said. She fled officers on foot, heading into the river around Sixth Avenue.
But officers, along with the Denver Fire Department, got her out of the river in a few minutes, he said. She has been taken into custody and no injuries have been reported.
