Denver will have sunny skies Wednesday before a brisk northwesterly wind brings stormy weather to the area in the evening, forecasters predict.
The high temperature will be around 71 degrees before a wind shift brings gusts up to 37 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
On Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation increases to 80 percent in the evening.
Rain will continue on Friday, mostly before midnight, according to the NWS. The high temperature will be around 49 degrees, the weather service says.
There is a 10 percent chance of rain on Saturday.
A warmup begins on Sunday, when the high is expected to reach 73 degrees. High temperatures are expected to reach the lower 70s Monday and Tuesday, the weather service says.
