A woman is dead and a man is in custody after a fatal shooting in Mesa County Saturday night.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to 3296 1/2 Lombardy Lane in Clifton shortly after 9:40 p.m. after receiving a report of several gunshots.
Deputies found the woman’s body outside of the residence. Deputies took the man into custody then to a local hospital for evaluation. Further information about the victim or the suspect was not immediately available.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Henry Stoffel said the investigation is ongoing, but the department is not looking for any other suspects.
