An 86-year-old man was found dead Wednesday evening after falling “an unknown distance” while apparently hiking in or near a popular Colorado Springs park.

The man’s body was discovered just before 7 p.m. on the 1000 block of Gold Camp Road. That’s in the Bear Creek Regional Park in southwest Colorado Springs.

His body was found roughly 60 yards from the road.

Colorado Springs police are investigating the death. The man’s name has not been released.
