Soft southwesterly breezes and mostly clear skies are expected along the Front Range Wednesday, forecasters say.
The temperature will climb to about 86 degrees in downtown Denver, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Winds of between 8 and 10 mph are forecast.
It will get cloudy in the late afternoon and evening. Temperatures will drop to about 54 degrees overnight.
Temperatures will continue to rise in the later half of the week with highs of 88 on Thursday, 90 on Friday and 89 on Saturday, the weather service says.
After a brief reprieve on Sunday when the high will only hit the low to mid-80s, the heat will be back with high expected in the upper 80s and low 90s Monday and Tuesday, the weather service says.
