Denver telemedicine company CirrusMD raises $7 million from local investors

Funds will be used to improve service with its text and video-chatting app connecting doctors and patients

Denver’s CirrusMD, which builds technology to offer secure mobile messaging between doctors and patients, plans to announce Tuesday that it has raised a $7 million in a venture round led by Colorado Impact Fund and several other investors.

The company, which employs 24 people, plans to use the money to expand its sales and marketing staff, invest in customer support and integrate more data analytics. Its app includes text and video chat. The company plans to hire another 20 workers by the end of the year, up from  last October.

Other Colorado investors in the round included Three Leaf Ventures, Service Provider Capital and Rockies Venture Fund. Bootstrap Incubation, Sand Hill Angels and New York Angels were also part of the round.
