A 61-year-old passenger on a bus died the next day despite initial reports that nobody was seriously injured in the crash.
The crash happened at 1:12 p.m. Monday near milemarker 9 on Colorado 93 near the border of Boulder and Jefferson counties.
Investigators say a Subaru WRX heading northbound drifted into the southbound lane and collided into the side of a bus owned by Developmental Disabilities Resource Center, causing the bus to roll over onto its side.
The bus was carrying 26 people at the time of the crash. Colorado State Patrol initially reported that 13 people were transported to the hospital and that all of the injuries were minor, but Trooper Josh Lewis said on Thursday that one of the passengers did die at the hospital on Tuesday.
Lewis said the man was from Lakewood, but said the coroner’s office would release the man’s identity.
