Patchy fog is expected before 8 a.m. Thursday before clouds build in the afternoon in preparation for another lightning show, forecasters say.
There’s a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
“The summer weather pattern will remain more active over the next few days,” the NWS says. “Today may see less storm coverage than yesterday, but stronger storms that do develop in the mountains and foothills and move onto the adjacent plains will be capable of producing heavy rain and local flooding.”
The high temperature will about 82 degrees. Winds could gust up to 21 mph.
There’s an isolated chance thunderstorms could provide a pre-dawn wake call along the Front Range Friday morning.
“There is also a threat one or two storms may be briefly severe with wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail to 1 inch in diameter,” the weather service says. “Storms are expected to weaken and dissipate and they move east across the plains. Friday and Saturday may see numerous storms producing heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds/hail.”
It will be mostly sunny Friday with a high temperature of about 87 degrees. Thunderstorms and rain are expected to roll in Friday afternoon. The chance for rain increases at night, the weather service says.
There’s a 40 percent chance for afternoon rain and thunderstorms Saturday. The high temperature will be around 83 degrees.
Isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected up and down the Front Range every afternoon between Sunday and Wednesday. High temperatures will range from the low to mid-80s during that period, the weather says.
