Mother Nature is offering up a roller-coaster weather scenario with a dramatic one-day shift from fall-like weather on Thursday to hot temperatures Friday and then back to fall temperatures for much of the next week.
Friday’s high of 88 degrees will be about 21 degrees hotter than the day before, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. But by Sunday, the high will be back in the low 70s in Denver.
On Friday, there’s only a 10 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., the weather service says. It could get breezy Friday night with 25 mph winds.
The chance for rain and thunderstorms increases Saturday afternoon to about 20 percent. The high is expected to be 85 degrees, the weather service says.
Another big temperature drop is expected Sunday, when there is a 40 percent chance of afternoon rain and thunderstorms. The high will be near 74 degrees. On Sunday night, the chance for precipitation increases to 50 percent, the weather service says.
Next week, temperatures will hover in the low to upper 70s Monday through Thursday, with rain and thunderstorms expected each day.
