A suspect in a fatal hit-and-run in Fountain has been arrested.

Richard Bitters, 41, was arrested Monday on suspicion of failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving death, according to Fountain police.

On Saturday, Mario Michael Wells, 57, a pedestrian, was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 85 and Fontaine Boulevard. Wells died Sunday of injuries suffered in the incident.

The driver who hit Wells fled the scene. Investigators on Monday located a suspect vehicle and arrested Bitters, who was booked at the El Paso County jail and held on $10,000 bail.
