A 69-year-old day care provider has been charged with child abuse resulting in death by negligence after a 1-year-old girl died in a crib, authorities say.
Denver District Attorney Beth McCann filed the charge against Stephanie Hill on Monday.
The 1-year-old . She had been placed in the crib containing a number of adult-size bed sheets.
When Hill checked on the baby in the middle of the afternoon, she was unresponsive.
The Denver medical examiner’s office indicated the cause of death was undetermined but added that the baby was placed in an , which “most likely contributed to the victim’s death.”
Police arrested White on Aug 1. She was released on $50,000 bail.
