Denver weather forecast includes scattered severe storms, large hail

Winds up to 60 mph, up to 2 inches of rain and 2-inch-diameter hail are expected Tuesday afternoon mostly on the Eastern plains, according to forecasters.

There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 84.

“Scattered thunderstorms will develop over the mountains early this afternoon and then spread over the plains late afternoon and evening hours. A few storms may become severe with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain,” the weather forecast says.

The best chance for severe storms will be east of a line from Limon to Grover.

On Wednesday, there is a 20 percent chance for precipitation and afternoon thunderstorms. The high temperature will be only around 75 degrees and the low will be about 55, according to the weather service.

There’s a 20 percent chance for rain on Thursday. The high temperature will be around 83 degrees.

It is expected to be mostly sunny on Friday, with a high temperature of around 84 degrees.

Temperatures will rise to the upper 80s on the weekend. There’s only a slight chance for rain on Saturday.
