Pedestrians enjoy the weather Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Commons Park. A concerted effort by police and neighborhood leaders has caused less transient and illegal drug activity in the park.

Brief rain, small hail and gusty winds up to 40 mph are expected over Park, Summit and Southern Jefferson counties, the NWS says.

Steady winds out of the west of between 5 to 7 mph will change to an easterly direction later in the afternoon and then back to a southwesterly flow late Friday night, the weather service says.

It gets even warmer over the weekend with a high of 91 degrees both on Saturday and Sunday, the NWS says.

There is a 10 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday night.

It will only be partly sunny on Monday at the time of a solar eclipse, according to forecasters. The high temperature will be around 89 degrees.

On Tuesday there is a slight chance for rain and thunderstorms in the evening. The high temperature will be around 83 degrees.

The highs will hover around the mid 80s on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, with a chance of afternoon rain on Thursday, according to the NWS.
