Re: Aug. 25 news story.

Reporter Chris Mooney has identified spot on the issue that makes climate change so difficult. Hurricanes are natural events at this time of year and in locations like the Gulf Coast. Climate change causes a little more rain, the storm to last a little longer and the surge to push a little more inland. For most people, these factors will not make a substantial difference. But for someone, somewhere, these factors will make a big difference. We’ll never know who it was that bore the burden of climate change. But because it is our greenhouse gas coming out of our tailpipe, we bear a fraction of responsibility.

We can, and should, make greenhouse gases more expensive. A carbon fee is just and responsible for this incremental issue.
